‘Doordarshi Bano!’ These are one of those common phrases echoing inside the walls of your house spoken either by your parents or relatives. Huh. On a serious note one needs to realise the significance of these words because if not our parents then life and time would teach us what relevance this conventional phrase holds. However, the Indian parenthood and the remaining rishtedaari fails to tell us how one must lead a life in a manner that our habits pay off in the longer run. Let me come with my words of wisdom (you can mention yours too in the comments below :P) as to how one can be an ‘adarsh beta or beti’ and also a man of substance to one’s family, society and the nation at large.
8 Things You Must Do That Will Pay Off In The Long Run
1. Value Time
I accept that this is the most recommended tip to achieve success in life, yet I begin with it. We are so caught up in our virtual lives which lure us ending up in distracting us from our core. We hold notions that we have enough time available for the task at hand and finally waste it on our cellphones, social networking sites and other multiple things. Therefore, when there is a lot already existing to drift us away from our path, it is essential for us to inculcate in us the methods carrying out our activities as per schedule, i.e. on time. This does not come in one day, or a month but is a long process. But once we have it in us, we would ourselves feel the changes in our preparations for facing the upcoming challenges.
2. Have Clarity
Get sorted in your head by knowing what you ‘exactly’ want from life. Only then you will not wander aimlessly in future and dwell in your own moods and emotions. When you know what you expect from life, how you can get it only then you can put yourself into action. This needs to be pre-figured and not left to future.
3. Be Good And Do Good
I have always believed in the cycle of ‘karma’. This is not just a belief but a deduction reached by personal experience. So always take the right path and be a good human being. If someone wrongs you, do not worry. One day they will have to pay for their deeds. Injustice never prevails whether in small or big amounts.
4. Think Positive
When you believe that nothing but good things are on the way it will automatically lead to your hormonal stability and prevent you from falling into stress or depression in later years. Also, this creates positive vibrations around you and the people you would meet and definitely life would also bow down before you.
5. Imbibe Good Habits From Everyone
Irrespective of their fields, you can always take in good habits, principles and ideologies from a person and apply them to your life. No matter if you want to be a writer, an autobiography of a sportsperson or an actor could be just what you need.
6. Inculcate Reading Habits
A voracious reader in his/her 20s has a perspective of an individual in 40s. This in itself is suggestive of the widening of our approach by reading. Also, a piece of information stored in our brain could be retrieved unexpectedly later on and prove to be helpful.
7. Put Yourself First
This could be in contradiction to your views. But I am of a firm opinion that you should put yourself before anyone else, do what makes you happy and never make compromises with your dreams and expectations from life. No other person deserves to be in your priority list before you. Yes! You can still put your family before but certainly not anyone else.
8. Never Regret
If you have learnt never to regret what you did in the past then congratulations! Because you will spend the rest of your life in bliss. Dwelling into the past and your mistakes doesn’t take you anywhere instead pulls you backward. However not regretting will only help you in moving forward and keep you away from frustration you will have energy to invest in yourself to become a better person in life.
Summing It Up
If you are getting any of this lately, great! For others its never too late to begin. This will take a lot of time but you have to be firm on your decision. Just recall ‘Rome was not built in a day’ and with you head held high keep moving. Everything pays off and connects in the end.
